Sorry I'm late again >_< But how was Monday? Did you write, plot, research, or anything else that'll help you get things done?

Do you ever find it difficult to draw the line between using a character's flaws and outright bashing? How do you handle prominent characters you just don't like?

I didn't do anything yesterday, but I really need to get back into the habit of checking in so that I may actually write something.

Depression made it impossible to get any writing done. Boo!

As for characters I don't like, I do my level best to find SOME admirable quality in them, and to write that into the narrative as well as their flaws. I find it makes for more dramatic tension.

I wrote a bit on my Dracula/Verona background story, a bit on my Patriot fanfiction. Probably going to work a bit on each during the week.

I try to leave out characters I do not really like if possible. If not, I just try to write them as faithfully as I can. For example, I really do not like Thor in Avengers or his own movie, but I don't think I would have a problem writing him. He might get notched down a bit when he throws around his stupid and arrogant one liners - but he probably also would learn something and remember it.*gg* I can think about that more when the time has come.

Although as a general rule I am also not above being mean to characters I adore and point out their flaws ..

I wrote 300(ish) words tonight but I'm not happy with it. I now have an almost complete mental outline for my nano fic, the biggest bulk of it came to me when I was walking home after work.

I try to not to bash my characters, even the ones that irritate me (eg Olivia on SVU).
