[FAVORITE CHARACTER DIES IN CANON? (fanficflamingo) FIX IT WITH FIC]

Do you write a lot of fix it fic for your canon, or are you happy to go it?

I started to research something - which in my case meant reading a particular chapter of a non-fiction book. Started the book from the beginning. Then got the laptop out - fatal mistake. *sighs*

I don't think I've ever needed to 'fix it with fic' - but there's a whole AU 'verse in the Hornblower fandom that insists Archie Kennedy didn't die in Mutiny/Retribution, and I like reading those stories. Not sure I could ever write one and have it end up being at all believable, but you never know. (Also: Cookies if you have a clue who and what I'm talking about. :D )

I wrote a bit, and read while playing games.

Fix it fic? Yeah, I write that, a lot. I happen to have the luck of attaching to characters that die in canon, so I figure out ways to bring them back.

Did more research, since it's easier to gather facts and ideas than it is to write about them! When I get time to write, I should have plenty to fuel the Muse, however.

My epic WIP is firmly centered around saving the guy who dies in canon and making the rest of the story fit around him now that he's not dead. It's great fun!

Hmm, is that character per chance the handsome guy in your icon?

Wrote one sentence. Spend the day making Loki icons. Which I am happy about, but I really would have liked to be able to write more ...

Oh, to ressurrect or keep characters alive was always my main motiviation. 99% of the time my favourite characters die and sometimes I get a good idea for an AR and then I run with it. Although I do try and stick to canon but sometimes it is just not possible. The need to keep a certain character alive or ressurect them is too strong.

I haven't written anything in over week but moving house at the end of last week and dealing with all that has killed off my muse for now. I'm hoping (read: wanting) to get at least 500 words written over the next few days on either of my goal fics for the month, even if they're handwritten it'll be something.

It depends on the canon that I'm writing in, with some characters their deaths are a good thing and with some it's more WTF TPTB, then going ahead and making them live. One of my goal fics has a character who died in canon, surviving after they died but I haven't got to that part yet.
