Today's minor grouse:

After two bloody years spent writing this thing, you'd think I'd be able to remember whether the doors in the Looming House swing or slide open.

I mean, I made a conscious decision on this at one point. It was a note in the margin of my first draft and everything. And here I am, typing up the end of Chapter Three, and can I remember? Can I hell.

It's relevant because a door can swing open tentatively if the person behind it is pushing it tentatively, but not slide open tentatively if it's on an automatic slider a la Star Trek...

Today was a bad day, will try better tomorrow. Funny how you can turn an audience reaction that hasn't even happened yet into such a huge issue.

I also need some non-serious/never to be seen in public project for myself so I can keep my writing spirit alive in general.

Today will either be a day when I give in and stop procrastinating on some boring reports I have to complete -- and thus no fic writing -- or it will be the day I decide to put off the reports one more day and push to finish my fledgling chapter! Maybe I'll spend an hour on those pesky reports and see if I have any oomph left afterwards for fic writing. ;-)

I wrote! Just another snippet via doing my stuff for 750 Words, but given how many of my finished fics have come out of that daily ritual, it may yet amount to something.
