Happy Monday! I hope your day has been going well so far. Here's the sometimes-true writing-related quote for the day:
1. How has your inspiration-clubbing gone today?
3. The "answer if you feel like it" question: What do you do to get yourself inspired, if inspiration is attempting to elude you?
You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.

1. How has your inspiration-clubbing gone today?
- I'm writing!
- I'm researching!
- I'm editing!
- I'm taking a break!
- I'm wishing I had time to write, but I'm just too busy with other things...
3. The "answer if you feel like it" question: What do you do to get yourself inspired, if inspiration is attempting to elude you?

Date: Monday, December 3rd, 2012 14:55 (UTC)It's early in the day here still, so I'm not going to assign myself a writing effort number. I'm hoping for at least a 5, which would indicate that I managed something!
In order to find inspiration, I will read over my notes several times, follow a few research trails, reread what I've already written, and daydream about possible options. Also, music while I'm thinking/writing really helps me, but I forget to turn it on sometimes -- I should make that my first step in the writing process, I think I would actually get more done.

Date: Monday, December 3rd, 2012 16:21 (UTC)I'm about 5-6 with my writing and what I want to achieve over the next day or so. Anything higher than 6 feels a tad unrealistic for me just now.
For inspiration it varies, music usually sparks something, sometimes it's the inane chatter on my local radio station, and other times putting on a DVD that is different to the fandom I'm writing in.

Date: Monday, December 3rd, 2012 17:10 (UTC)When inspiration eludes me, I like to talk to someone about what I'm working on. That can often shake something loose for me. I don't even have to talk about the specific issue I'm having, just the piece in general.

Date: Monday, December 3rd, 2012 19:46 (UTC)And I tend to stare at my folders going, "Huh, what's that one?" and reading the rough story ideas I wrote up when i first thought of them, or checking stuff I have in memories as 'story ideas' or posts of mine where something in them (comment or post) ended up getting a tag added for story ideas.
::grins:: Failing all that, I go read non-fiction until I think of something to do with what I'm reading.
