What's everyone working on lately? If you don't want to give specifics, maybe you just want to rant (or rave!), or ask for help, or just say that yes, thank goodness, there IS some kind of idea rattling around in your brain. Or something else. I like cheerleading, so if anyone needs any, shout. ;)

I'm working on at least 3 Oofuri fics (& none of them specifically for the kink meme, woe). One of them is a more unusual (at least in my head) pairing, one is a futurefic (I almost never get ideas for futurefics, dunno why), & one is another female masturbation fic (this seems to come up a lot in my fic! All my ladies touch themselves, hooray!).

They're all at various stages of approaching the point where I really will need another eye on them, but are all also stymieing me in slightly different ways (also NAMES & HONORIFICS, need I say they always stymie me?). I've been inching forward with them, & every time I leave one for a few days I come back & discover it's not as crappy as I'd feared but that it still needs loads of work. I just feel like I need more stamina & more faith right now or I might end up abandoning them, which would suck as they're close! Sorta kinda!

I also have half-written a Tam Lin (the Pamela Dean novel) fic that I tried to crank out for the Porn Battle, but I don't think it will ever go anywhere, or not without a LOT of work.

I have a couple of other things in very embryonic stages but they're the sorts of things I don't want to mention lest I scare the ideas back into hiding.

I have a kink bingo story that's half done (sensory deprivation) that's frustrating me.

I'm otherwise just... not writing lately.

What unusual pairing would that be, if you don't mind me asking?

I have... many fics on my current list. :) In Oofuri, the main one (which is rather slow-going) is a retelling of Nishiura's first year from Izumi's point of view (and sequel). Then there's an immeasurable load of stuff for my huge future-verse, the vampire AU, and some kink meme prompts that I will keep secret in a flimsy defense of anonymity.

Then there's Suikoden Tierkreis, for which I also have a huge, plot-driven futurefic that hasn't gone further than the prologue yet, and a couple of ficlets that I was prompted for many moons ago.

And a week left to get as much done on all this as possible. XD

Ah, I know a couple of people who ship it (and there's a fair amount of art in the Japanese fandom, as well), but the ones who might have written for it have since moved on to other things. Somehow I only ever got the BFF vibe from them.

Good luck on getting there! I'm sure it will please a lot of anons. \o/

Strangely, this Izumi is a lot less snarky than my usual, so far! Then again, that might be because he hasn't started talking to Hamada yet. XD

I love that picture, it has so many layers of awesome. I only wish I knew who drew it... I'll check if I still have links to a couple of japanese fansites, some of them are amazingly sweet.

I'M SURE THEY WILL! And yeah, I like how everyone seems to have different reasons for not leaving feedback. All things considered, it's a wonder that anyone ever does!

Me too! Though Hamada doesn't fight back enough in canon. But it could be so much fun...

Sadly, no. :/ I'd like to think I'd recognize it if it was one of my artist friends, so I'm assuming this is someone unknown...

Ah, yes. As soon as you want to make Tajima serious about something else than baseball, it becomes reaaaaal difficult. But closer to his canon personality!

Agreed, but for some reason he never seems to do it. I would really like to find out what that reason is. HAMADA FLASHBACK TIME, PLEASE?

raanve: King Arthur's Round Table (Arthuriana)
From: [personal profile] raanve
I'm working on a fic in Arthurian fandom, about a character who isn't the POV character very often (Morgause). It's tricky because I can feel the emotional seed of what I'm looking for, and I can sort of envision the trajectory of it, but I still feel like I'm missing something critical. So I've written like 5 pages of "notes" and read an academic essay (!!) and I'm thinking that tomorrow I might sit down & try to freewrite & just see where that takes me. It's tricky; I think this has a lot of potential & I want to it right!

If you need at beta reader for the Tam Lin thing, I think you know who to call. -___^

Heeee, I actually thought about the fact that me posting might make you squee. ;)

So far, the fic is still stymieing me, but it's a fun thought experiment so I think I'll keep poking at it.

I'm thinking on it! If I come up with anything juicy I shall pass it on to you!

Maybe. To be honest the only times I thought about a fic for ages before trying to write it I ended up with a blank page so I don't think that's the strategy for me. All the things I've written so far have been more or less on the spur of the moment (within 30 minutes or more recently, as an answer to a prompt in a ficathon).

I want to write a fic about why Gilmore Girls feels so special to me and that is quite the Project of the Century.

I still want to write this parody idea I thought about a long time ago.

To be honest at this point I just want to write something that's me, not someone else. I love humour and banter and a quick pace and eccentricities and meta. Character development and angst is not me. Being in-character probably is. So yes, trying to write that :) Perhaps I'll switch to original fiction for a while.

This post is so old I don't know who's looking at it but I didn't think it would be okay to make a new post ...

Anyway I've been writing White Collar fic for a little while now and I do have a beta - who I like, but I'm looking to get a little more feed back on what people think about what I write as I don't get many comments on my stories. All of them can be found on my journal or on my account at Archive of our Own.

You'll find that most of them are very short episode missing scenes or tags - but I do have a few longer ones... any comments are welcome. I'm hoping someone here knows White Collar enough to give comments on the characterizations. One other thing is that as someone who has always preferred gen, Peter/Elizabeth is my first attempt at writing ANY kind of a pairing but I love them so much in canon I couldn't not try to write them. But I'm not sure how well I'm doing in that regard.

I have two fics that I'm working on right now. Both are kind of involved (and one is probably going to end up being REALLY long). I've always preferred to read longer fics, so I guess it isn't that surprising that I'd want to write longer stories.

My biggest problem is that I've never posted fic before, nor have I actually finished a story, and I'm really nervous about it. Writing in and of itself doesn't bother me...I'm a grad student so I have to write a lot of academic stuff, and I used to practice creative writing all the time when I was younger. It seems silly, but I'm having a hard time crossing the fanfic line.

Anyway, I'm here and this comm seems to be right up my alley. I have this fic journal (which is totally empty, of course), my ideas, and a story outline going in WikidPad. Hopefully I can pull the trigger!
