Crikey it's Monday :( hope it's a good day for you all, writing or otherwise.
I've got far too much RL stuff to be dealing with today but hopefully I'll have some time later on in the day to get some more editing done and also try and figure out where I'm going wrong with my pacing and what's going to work to slow down/speed up/account for time jumps in some scenes because I found more pacing problems.
Discussion topic: amusing mistakes. Have you ever found a mistake in your fic that made you laugh? Did you find it during the editing process? Did you find it after you posted it?
I’ve been very slowly editing my Taggart fic and I found that I’d written a row of decapitated garages, of course I meant to write a row of dilapidated garages. I did change it when I spotted it and had a giggle too :) then again, a decapitated garage would be an interesting sight.

Date: Monday, February 18th, 2013 13:59 (UTC)I have laughed over a consistent mistake I keep discovering as I edit old chapters of one of my WIPs -- I keep on writing "south of the road." What makes this humorous is that in my story's canon, there is nothing south of the road but a huge mountain, so I really mean north of the road -- and I keep on finding this error, because obviously south must have been more natural to write than north. Even funnier is, I think I'm the only one who has ever noticed this as an error. No reader has noticed this problem with geography. I wonder if that means it really doesn't matter if I don't get it exactly right? ;-) That's one reason I go back and keep re-editing things, though, because I do find silly mistakes and I'm a stickler for getting my facts straight.
