WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 27 -- Wednesday

It's Wednesday, which means the week is half over already!  What kind of a writing day has it been for you today?

• I thought about my fic once or twice
• I wrote
• I did some planning and/or research
• I edited
• I've sent my fic off to my beta
• I posted today!
• I'm taking a break
• I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion:  Have you ever discovered a story you started but forgot about?  Do you have WIPs that have been dormant so long you can't remember what to do with them?  If you found such a story, would you try to resurrect it, even if you couldn't remember your original plan?

Writing's going very well today and oh, yeah, I've found stuff I'd completely forgotten. Some of it was finished, even. Mostly, though, I put notes at the bottom of a file if it's stalling out, so that if I forget it, I come back and know where I meant to go. And several of those, I've come back and finished later. Sometimes years later, even.

We had a snow day today, so my daughter has been home all day, and I got no writing done (I still might later, but I'm not holding my breath).

I keep old WIP around and poke at them once in a while. I don't think I've ever forgotten what I wanted to do with one. There have, however, been prompts I noted down for later use and then completely forgot what ideas they gave me. I just deleted a whole bunch of those. I still kept two or three dozen, so I'm in no danger of running out of things to write.

I think it's actually finished. I think. Off to the beta tomorrow after my customary 24-hour cooling-off period. Whew!

I was just recently making a list of WIPs, and resigning myself to the fact that two or three of them will probably be permanently abandoned. The shame.
