Hi everyone, how is today treating you? RL has been awful today, even with my friend's good news. I'm trying to make some time tonight to edit a rather stubborn and important scene in chapter ten that isn't co-operating.
Discussion topic: prequels and sequels. Have you ever written a prequel or sequel to a fic? What worked? What didn't work?
I've written sequels to some of my fics but I only do them when I feel I can continue and still keep up with the events of the previous work. At the moment I'm contemplating a sequel to Twice Unjust because the final scene leaves room for it to happen, however, deciding Robbie's eventual fate is proving to be difficult and one option I had, has since been ruled out due to recent RL events.

Date: Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 19:09 (UTC)I do have a set of stories that are in an arc. I started with one story and didn't intend to write more, but more came to me. I've also got a couple of fragments of sequels to other stories. They may never go anywhere. They've been stalled out for years. Who knows?

Date: Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 14:33 (UTC)I've written both sequels and prequels. One of my current epic WIPs is actually a sequel to the first lengthy thing I wrote -- and it looks like the current WIP is wanting a sequel someday! The prequels have been short things that explained the setting of the longer work a bit better.
