Hello everyone, I'll be hosting the check ins this week.
Has today been a good writing day for you?
Today I:
- wrote
- planned
- edited
- posted
- researched
- had a day off
- did something else
Today was:
- excellent
- average
- okay
- terrible
- I don't want to talk about it
Today's discussion topic:
I think I've talked about this before, but it is extremely relevant to me just now, and I know they can change over time so. Do you have a favourite trope right now? Care to share with us? If you do have one, do you like writing it as much as you do reading it or vice versa?

Date: Monday, April 22nd, 2013 11:22 (UTC)I am not sure if I would say one particular trope applies to my writing but generally I am very attracted to bad guy/good girl romances.* Especially since I loathe the most common tropes associated with it (like love cures the bad guy or rape is love)
I seldom find fanfics involving my sub-trope (I guess there is some trope that covers it but I have not found it on tvtropes for example). If I stumbled upon one in my fandoms I am certain I would like to read it.
* It is not to be confused with the All Girls Want Bad Boys trope. Because that trope and I quote
I hate it when they gloss over these things, the fun is that the setting is not perfect but the issues are dealt with and often worked out.

Date: Monday, April 22nd, 2013 13:17 (UTC)I imagine there are tropes that cover what I write, but I'm not sure which ones! I don't have a particular favorite that I like writing. I suppose the one that might apply the best to the WIP I'm trying to work on currently would be "childhood friends" -- my main character is trying to make a choice that will determine the course of his life and whether or not to follow his childhood friend is a significant part of that decision.
