Last day of the month, WIP folks! How's it going? How's it been this month in general? Did you meet your goals, or perhaps get further than you thought you might anyway?

3rd day of writing snippets for this fic that just came into my head & wanted to be written earlier this week. It's actually a prompt I left ages ago but suddenly feel like I could write myself. This is great b/c usually my prompts are things I feel stymied by.

Whyyyyy do all my fic ideas recently seem like they would require lots & lots of canon review, though? I've been taking notes as I go over manga & stuff, but when I start writing fic, it always seems like there's some minor character, whose behavior I hadn't written notes on, that becomes v. important & whose personality I now need to go back & scour canon for notes on.

I have been practicing for a muse journal (which will be a long-term tactic for keeping my creativity alive, not to mention I've been wanting to do it for some time now) and I sorted out some other ideas, so it appears that my creative rut may have finally reached its end. I think I may also start rewriting some of my older ficlets into more coherent stories, but we'll see about that. Hopefully I will finally get around to publishing something next month though!

It always feels good to me to take a draft ficlet & finalize it, or incorporate it into a bigger fic. Good luck w/that!

Also, the muse journal sounds really interesting! It would be neat to have a discussion in the comm around how people encourage their creativity--by keeping a journal or filling a Tumblr w/inspirational pics or doing other things. (That's not a hint that you should start such a post, but if you would like to post about it, please do!)

Sigh! No writing happened yesterday.

As for the month, it was good. I didn't actually meet any of my goals, not fully -- but I had my stories front and center -- more than they have been for months -- and I thought about them all month, and fiddled with them, and made notes, and started posting one that had previously been unpublished, so I feel it was a successful month.

Today's a new day and a new month for a fresh start, hope I can start it off properly with a bit of writing! :-D

Hooray! That's awesome. I kind of feel like that's possibly even more important than a specific goal, y'know? Or that it could be a goal in itself. I hope that you're able to keep going focusing on your stories this month too!
