WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 3 -- Friday

It's Friday and time for a check in.  I do apologize for missing a second day this week.  It's just one of those weeks!  ;-)

What kind of day have you had today, writing or otherwise?

• I thought about my fic once or twice
• I wrote
• I did some planning and/or research
• I edited
• I've sent my fic off to my beta
• I posted today!
• I'm taking a break
• I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion:  How do you deal with writing when you are not always working in the same place or are away from home?  Do you have your work on multiple computers?  Store your drafts on a flash drive and carry it with you? Make use of the cloud or other backup services, carry a notebook (electronic or paper), write on envelopes or napkins?

I was traveling yesterday, so didn't get a chance to actually write. I spent a lot of time making sure my flash drive was up to date with my latest scribblings, but when I arrived at my destination, I discovered I did not have it with me! Very frustrating. I'm not sure what to work on now, but I'll think of something!

When I don't forget it, I have all my work duplicated on a flash drive I carry with me. It has Jarte installed on it, so I can use my favorite writing program no matter what computer I'm sitting at. I also usually have a paper notebook with me and a folder full of notes, but those are never quite as up to date as what is on my flash drive. I might have to start using the cloud or Google Docs again if I'm going to keep on being forgetful when it comes to my flash drive!
