I wrote more of the Natsume Yuujinchou fic today, the one that is to my own prompt that I thought I couldn't write (hence me leaving it as a prompt for someone else). It's definitely going to be tricky getting this to any sort of usable shape (much less actually kicking my ass enough to do final edits & commit to posting it whenever it's at that stage--that's always trickiest for me). But! Still in love w/the idea of this story, so hopefully I'll be able to get lots of the work done while I'm still in the honeymoon phase.

I'm in the middle of a writing session right now. My presence on the internet is a sign that it's going extremely well. ;) Oi. I keep finding more and more things that I need to research... and insecurity is seriously kicking my ass -- it's a fic that crosses over with a fandom I just don't write very often.

So, progress of a sort, just slow progress and not the actual writing words kind!

Yeah, I get the urge to research when I'm supposedly writing too! Sometimes it's a genuine need--the story goes one way if X is true, & another if it's not, & I need to look up X right then--& sometimes, yeah, cozy distraction.

Feel free to post looking for a beta or someone to chat w/who might know the second fandom, if you feel like that might help?

You did work on your fic, anyway, beyond pure writing, so I count that as a success!

No writing is happening at the moment due to a major computer meltdown. :-( Something got royally screwed up while installing updates, and now I can't start, repair or restore. I'm typing this on an old fuddy duddy computer that is mostly just a glorified word processor. If I can tear myself away from trying to fix my nice computer, I might just do some writing as a way of recovering my sanity -- spending time with my characters would be very pleasant right now!

I actually dreamed about one of my stories last night, and woke up determined to write today, so I think I will still do that, and make it a dream come true. ;-) In spite of the computer hassles!!

Oh no, computer problems suck. :( I hope yours gets fixed soon! Did you end up working on the old computer?

Dreaming about your stories sounds like an awesome sign--hopefully the dream gave you some insight into any problems you were having w/it, maybe? The old subconscious coming up w/solutions?

The old computer was too slow and made me mad, so I spent my time getting my nice one back in order. It's not fully back yet, but everything I need it for (for writing and doing canon research by watching anime, hehe!) is good to go. Yay!

My dream seemed to consist mostly of one of my characters berating me for ignoring him, so it was a good kick in the pants, lol! So he'll get some concentrated time today, for sure. I think I really need to work harder at writing at a set time in the early morning, before the rest of the day gets in the way, instead of doing my work and hoping there is time left in it to write.
