WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 1 -- Saturday

Greetings on Saturday!  Sorry about missing yesterday, I'm not sure where Friday went.

It's a new writing month, and an opportunity for a fresh start.  How are you making use of your time today for writing?

For Discussion:  Since it's the beginning of a new month, share about some of your writing goals for June; will you do anything differently this month to help yourself accomplish those goals?

I haven't done any new writing as yet, but yesterday I succumbed to a plot bunny that formed from writing a short one-shot, and started a story folder for the continuation of that story as a longer tale. I didn't do much more than write down some ideas, but I was definitely thinking about fic.

I have my usual goals of trying to make progress in the various WIPs I have out there, and maybe even finish one of them. In order to do that, I have to change my ways -- I really want to establish the habit of spending a definite amount of time every day writing. That's my priority starting today!

My goal is just to write every day. Or edit - you know working on any fanfic counts. But not icon making, blending or other stuff that is loosely related ;)

A snippet/preview from my current story All there is

He held out the medical scanner to her, with a soft nod, she took it reluctantly.

Khan smiled at her, she was perfect. He could mould her to serve his purpose. There were a few more things he would need to discover about her but he had already seen the core of her. She was in search of who she was, whether she had been outcast or just felt like she had been, she was on her own.

That made her vulnerable, in other circumstances she might be able to guard herself, but here she was trapped. What made it even more interesting was how aware she was of the reality of her situation. Even though she had accepted it, she was still looking for a way out. It would not be hard to make her think, that he was her way out.

Probably have to tweak it a bit but I think that sums up the intro of this OC pretty well.

I haven't written anything yet, but I'm hoping to finish and find a beta for this Les Mis fic today... :)

He is struck by a sudden memory, so vivid it seems almost as if the world has shifted beneath his feet, has fled away into an unknown future and left him stranded in the past: another small room, another man standing over an unknowing dreamer, his thoughts tangled and scarred, his hands full of silver. It steals his breath away; it lingers for a moment; and then it is gone and he is himself again; Monsieur le Maire stands with gold in his pocket over a poor man in need of aid.

Determined to write daily, even if it's only 100 words. And to give myself permission to do it in the way that's spoonwise easiest for me instead of feeling like I'm cutting corners/slacking.

I wrote a tiny bit, more to maintain myself than to maintain the story. I'm swamped at school, so I have to make my writing goals flexible based on how strict my schoolwork schedule is. I'd like to write at least once a week even during this time.

Was out all yesterday. I missed this! Anyway, I didn't really do anything other than plan, but I intend to work on writing faster and writing better. I usually spend forever on every fic, dawdling and procrastinating and editing before I even begin, but this month I am going to write, and I am going to write quickly! And that's my new month's resolution.
