Today's discussion topic: How much inspiration do you take from your surroundings? Do you hear snippets of conversation around you and think that's perfect for character X? Or character Y would totally do that/love that? Do you end up incorporating these things into your fic, or do you just use them as inspiration or a jumping off point?

Yesterday was headache day :( But I did write a bit early in the day - so yeah!

Sometimes, I hear something and it serves as inspiration - however most of the time, it mutates into something unrecognisable as I go along with the spark ...

I got my edits finished yesterday and I'm leaving it alone for a day or so before I post. I have the day off and will be writing at the beach, it's too nice not to.

A lot of things from my surroundings made it in to my fics when I first moved to Scotland but now it varies because somethings make it in to my fic at some point and others give me a bit of kick to start or continue with an idea that may have stalled, sometimes nothing makes it in at all.
