Today's discussion question-- Do you have a process for going from prompt to story? (Assuming you write from prompts at all.)

I tend, after getting the prompt, to review canon with the prompt in my mind. Usually, that gives me a starting point. Then I start writing and see what happens. Most of the time, it works.

Hope you got your internet fixed! I'm not happy with AT&T cell phone department right now, and thankfully do not have their internet. I hear it's become a total mess lately - you're not the only one.

I like writing from prompts. I like your idea of reviewing canon and finding a spot to put the prompt; I usually just start writing, and you probably know how that turns out :).

I have some bad comfort habits that I'm trying to break.

I did write a couple of pages on the two EQ stories I'm trying to finish. Started the one Thurs, so I'm happy with my progress. I have a L&O mothership Ben Stone years fanfic that I'm about to post on otherwise that needs outlined and finished. If I don't finish them this weekend, they will be my BIAW stories for the week on Yahoo's Romance Writer's BIAW list.

Completely failed to finish one of my fills before the bonus round deadline. I guess I'll just finish it at my own pace and post it then? I've been writing for the second bonus round quite a lot, though.

My process mostly consists of blind panic and a lot of flailing about, but usually I manage to pull through.
