[personal profile] linaewen posting in [community profile] writethisfanfic
Greetings this new week! [personal profile] linaewen here to help encourage you and provide you with a setting to talk about your writing as we head into a new month of our WIP challenge.

What kind of a writing day has it been today?
  • I thought about my fic once or twice
  • I wrote
  • I did some planning and/or research
  • I edited
  • I've sent my fic off to my beta
  • I posted today!
  • I'm taking a break
  • I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
For Discussion:  Today is actually the last day of our June challenge.  How did June go for you with your writing? Were you encouraged or discouraged by your progress?  What was one thing that came out of your writing this month that excited you or that made you feel happy with what you are working on?

I'm currently reviewing canon before starting an exchange fic.

During June, I got another exchange fic done. It ended up being a collaboration because the prompt was for something I couldn't write well. Fortunately, I have a friend who knows the fandom and is good at what I'm bad at. She was willing to help out.

I'm only just home from work but I am going to be settling down with one of my fics for a few hours this evening, I'm not sure if there'll be actual words or just reading through the notes.

Writing wise I finished a couple of short pieces, around 1000 words on each but never posted them, I will do that soon though because I am quite happy with how they've turned out. I was somewhere between encouraged and discouraged but some of that was down to dealing with a horrible situation in RL that zapped my time and energy for a wee while. Finding two stalled WIPs and realising that they can be salvaged with some tweaking has given me something to think about, and also tweaking the starting point of a fic that I was uncertain about has perked me up a little because I was starting to think the whole idea was too convoluted to actually work.

Poll answers, in order: I thought about my fic once or twice (when I signed up for July's Camp NaNo). I wrote (150 words). I did some (mental) planning & research. I posted (some unfinished comment fic) today!

June was not a good month. I started the year well, and then stopped writing almost completely in April and May. I just started writing some comment-fic in the last two days. It's not any of the wips I should have worked on, but at least I wrote something.

Today was a bit of a bust, writing-wise. I did a 5k run for charity this morning, then did some laundry this afternoon and now I feel knackered. I did manage to do something towards getting back in the writing routine, so that's some progress.
