How do you feel when you discover someone else has written a story/idea/plot twist that is similar to one you thought of and are particularly proud of?  How do you deal with it after you discover it -- do you press on or change your writing plan?

No writing yet, but I have plans for the day. My goal is to edit an old chapter of one of my WIPs for posting, then transpose my most recent scribbles into my story document, then go from there. I actually am late with one of my promised challenge stories, so I hope I can sit down and work that up at some point today.

I have had the experience several times of discovering a fic where someone wrote an plot point similar to mine, which I thought was so original. At first I panicked, but I eventually decided it didn't matter what someone else wrote and decided to let my own ideas rule my writing and not someone else's story!
