Discussion: strange reviews. Have you ever received a review on your fic that you though was strange?

I recently got a couple of reviews on FF.net (I'm still not keen on it) for my newest piece and one of the comments had This story is good – actually very good for it being your first longer story along with some other positive feedback. I guess I just found it strange that they thought it was my first, especially with my profile stating that I've been writing and posting my fic online for around 20 years.

I once got a review that was all, "I guess it is a good story, all things considered," as if they were reluctant to say they enjoyed it. From other stuff in their comment, I definitely got the feeling that they wished they had written the story, and couldn't get past that feeling to offer genuine kudos.

Today's my birthday, so I'm kind of trying to just enjoy the day.

The strangest review I got was several years ago on FF.net on one of my early stories calling me "A big fat Pig." I deleted it, but it did kind of boggle me.

I once got a review that went something like, "a hot mess with decent grammar." It confused the hell out of me.
