What sorts of obstacles get in the way of your writing? Are they the internal kind, or the external kind?

Life hates me and I completely hate it and I'm just in a really really dark place emotionally ATM.

My obstacles are almost exclusively external. I am definitely too busy the last few months, and that adversely affects my ability to write -- not just with time, but with motivation. When I actually do have the time to work on some writing, I'm too worn out to think straight, so I end up procrastinating and doing something mindless instead. Even having deadlines doesn't help when I get this busy!

Once the external obstacles were more or less eliminated, I had to face the fact that I lack both discipline and motivation. It's a hard thing to work past.
