WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 13 -- Sunday

What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or if you haven't begun yet, what do you hope for today?

I have plans for writing later in the day, which hopefully won't be subverted by other less interesting things!

I have written a Mary Sue as a joke. It turned out rather well, and was fun. Other than that, I haven't really inserted myself into a story.

I have never written a Mary Sue. Self-inserts don't interest me, not even in my private daydreams or sexual fantasies.

I'm ridiculously pleased that I finished and posted the translation of my Büttenwarder fic. It's a translation from German into Low German, and the reason it took me so long is that I'm very insecure about my Low German and practically checked everything I wrote multiple times. I also got stuck on lot of vocabulary questions, and even with the internet, resources are scarce. The result is probably not without errors, but I'm proud that I managed to write 5000 words in Low German, and glad to add a little bit to what's out there to read.

Now I'm looking at a little ficlet I got back from beta. It's one of these instances where the fic is okay, but somehow lacking, and even with the betareader's suggestions it's probably going to take me a while to get the it into shape.

Not sure if I'll write more on my crossover fic today, but I'm quite happy with what else I've achieved so far today, and given that I left my crossover at a scene I'm looking forward to, I'm not worried about taking a break from it.

I've done a little bit of editing on one fic and some planning for another. Hopefully I can get the edits finished today and the fic posted tomorrow.

I've never written a Mary Sue, it's something that doesn't appeal to me at all.

It's not quite 2 p.m. here, and I've managed a couple of paragraphs. That's a lot for a Sunday. Of course, I'm not sure I'll keep the paragraphs. I'm trying to use them to cover a fair amount of time and tedious stuff that I don't want to write in detail, and I'm not sure they work.

I don't think I've ever written a self-insert. I was in my thirties when I started writing fic, and it never occurred to me to do it.

Too many other issues to deal with: allergies, exhaustion, trying to catch up on professional chores that I've neglected for trope_bingo reasons. I wrote a lot on Saturday night, though. I look forward to rereading my output tomorrow and figuring out where I can take it.

I wrote, but I took a break because of illness. :/ I hope to get back to work later today, especially since I've dumped most every drama I used to watch on Sunday except for Boardwalk Empire. (This fall season, I hate Sunday dramas. IDK why.)

I don't think I've slid in a Mary Sue in my fic yet. I have a prompt for that at ladiesbingo, but I haven't done that prompt yet, and I don't know how I'd tackle it.

I do have one fic that I wrote YEARS ago that has a Mary Sue, but I secretly still like it even if I'm a little embarrassed by it now. xD I also have an original 'verse I mostly draw (though I have written for it) that has a self-insert, but it's all for fun as my other characters tend to argue with me about what the hell am I drawing or tease me. ^^;

As for writing, I'm writing the next chapter in my enterprising NYCstuck fic and should have it done in... *looks at time* A half hour! (Or an hour, lol. So long as I get it done by 1am, EST, I'll be happy.)

I also did a very rough sketch for hpreversebang! (Which is an accomplishment for me!)
