Apologies for missing yesterday, the combination of a job application and a cold meant my brain went off for a wander.

Date: Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 15:02 (UTC)There are a lot of words and turns of phrase that I overuse. Usually I catch them as I'm going, because it's important to me to keep the language in my story diverse and interesting. Otherwise I get bored while writing it. I don't think I notice all of my writing tics or fixations, and I have a sneaking suspicion that my style is very recognizable. At least the words I insist on change pretty often. For instance, I've finally stopped trying to use the word "ostensibly" in every third sentence.
