How is today going for you?

It’s looking like a something else day for me because I have to prepare for a job interview and I need to prioritise my tasks for the rest of the day.

Discussion: You've got kudos. When you get a kudos on something you posted to AO3 what does it mean to you?

A kudos means the same as getting an I loved this because…. review.

Oh, I love kudos. They're every bit as valuable to me as reviews. Sure, I love getting those long, detailed reviews that show someone really got into the story, but how often does that happen? From past experience, writing a really good review is definitely work.

Life is too much with me these days, so pretty much all I can manage in the way of writing is doing research. That's keeping my mind on writing, at least, even if words aren't coming out of it.

I love kudos. It's exactly the same as someone commenting to tell me my story is great. I like AO3 because of the kudos, and because I can also see how many reads I have and how many have bookmarked the story in question. Those numbers are also just as encouraging as a comment.

As a person who likes lots of stories and never knows what to say when it comes time to leave a comment, I love kudos.

As an author, I consider them roughly equivalent to a "great job!" or "I liked this!" type comment.
