Do you write in the same genre or style that you like to read?

I can't really answer this one because, by and large, I haven't been reading fic this year. It's partly that I'm not really in any fandoms where much fic is being posted and partly that I've been too scattered to focus on reading. I've downloaded a bunch of fic to my e-reader, but I haven't touched any of it. This has been a productive writing year for me, not so much on the reading side.

I don't read fic very often but when I do, it is always humour, something I rarely write myself.

I want to write but I'm travelling back to Aberdeen at the moment and I can't concentrate at all. I might try and get a little something down when I get home later tonight.

There is a big overlap between what I write and what I read.

I've had long periods when I struggled to read anything, and in particular anything over a thousand or so words. The last time I finished reading a 5K+ story I was so excited. Lots of backlog has piled up from that time, and I'm slowly making my way through it. There are still a lot of genres that I love reading but don't write. For example, I struggle with plot-heavy stories.
