Discussion: mid month progress. As we are at the halfway point of the month, I thought I'd ask how you are all getting on with your writing so far. Are the words flowing? Are you stalled? Struggling to meet a challenge deadline? Dealing with too much real life? Something else? What do you hope to achieve by the end of the month?

My progress is very much hit and miss as I'm split between dealing with real life (preparing for my parents visit, starting my new job, and a few other more personal things) and feeling a little bit stalled, especially with my [community profile] kidficstory big bang. I've mainly written drabble and ficlet length prompt fills for my [community profile] genprompt_bingo and [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo tables. My goal this month is my Taggart fic for [community profile] kidficstory big bang and by the end of the month I would like to have at least 4000 words of the rough draft ready for submitting even if I am under the word limit on the due date for drafts.

Still slogging through this Yuletide fic. And I really do need to start on [community profile] kidficstory.

I have nearly finished one chapter of my big WIP, and actually outlined the rest of it enough to have a final chapter count this month. It's weird to have the end in sight after 200,000+ words. Granted, the end is still almost 20 chapters away, but I'm getting there.

I also have a draft I detest for one exchange fic that at least meets the minimum word count, and I have yet to start writing my fic for another exchange (both are due in January). I'm starting to feel really frustrated because I have two things that are almost done, but I'm so fed up with them at this point that I want to throw them away and start over.

I had a cold, so there were a few days where I didn't feel like much after coming home from work.

But today, I finished the first editing round on my crossover, and I managed to write the end for which I had no motivation during my first draft. I managed to straighten some of the problems I had with the last chapter, and now at least I have a full thing that I can have someone read over. Yay, I didn't think I'd get there this fast!

My Yuletide fic is still with the beta reader, and I'm getting antsy about it. I should probably contact them soon if I don't hear from them, but that's something I really hate about having strangers beta. It's just so awkward and I don't want so seem impatient, but there's a deadline looming...
