How is today going for you?
Discussion: mid month progress. As we are at the halfway point of the month, I thought I'd ask how you are all getting on with your writing so far. Are the words flowing? Are you stalled? Struggling to meet a challenge deadline? Dealing with too much real life? Something else? What do you hope to achieve by the end of the month?
My progress is very much hit and miss as I'm split between dealing with real life (preparing for my parents visit, starting my new job, and a few other more personal things) and feeling a little bit stalled, especially with my
kidficstory big bang. I've mainly written drabble and ficlet length prompt fills for my
genprompt_bingo and
cottoncandy_bingo tables. My goal this month is my Taggart fic for
kidficstory big bang and by the end of the month I would like to have at least 4000 words of the rough draft ready for submitting even if I am under the word limit on the due date for drafts.

Date: Sunday, December 15th, 2013 15:31 (UTC)I also have a draft I detest for one exchange fic that at least meets the minimum word count, and I have yet to start writing my fic for another exchange (both are due in January). I'm starting to feel really frustrated because I have two things that are almost done, but I'm so fed up with them at this point that I want to throw them away and start over.

Date: Sunday, December 15th, 2013 21:07 (UTC)But today, I finished the first editing round on my crossover, and I managed to write the end for which I had no motivation during my first draft. I managed to straighten some of the problems I had with the last chapter, and now at least I have a full thing that I can have someone read over. Yay, I didn't think I'd get there this fast!
My Yuletide fic is still with the beta reader, and I'm getting antsy about it. I should probably contact them soon if I don't hear from them, but that's something I really hate about having strangers beta. It's just so awkward and I don't want so seem impatient, but there's a deadline looming...
