Discussion: stats. When it comes to things like hits, kudos, comments etc. on your fic, do you check your stats on a regular basis? Occasionally? Not at all?

I tend to only look at my stats occasionally because I find that things like hits aren't that important to me but this is mostly due to posting nearly everything to LJ and DW for years and neither have a way of checking those things on individual posts, at least that I know of. I recently wrote a short post about the things I find surprising with my overall top five AO3 stats. (It's here, if your curious.)

I loooove stats! Not just fic stats, but everything, and I often have a look at my stats page on AO3.

With my crossover sent to a beta reader (more like alpha reader, really), my Yuletide fic posted and a few days off work ahead, I can now decide which of my half-baked story ideas I'm going to work on next. How odd.

When I posted my fiftieth fic on AO3, I did a little fiddling around, looking at stats and talking about trends in my fic. I was interested to see which were my most popular and which my least popular fics. I don't track hits and kudos very carefully, but I do look to see if my most recent stories have gotten more hits since I was last on the site.

I wish that AO3 would notify you when someone bookmarks one of your fics. Those people often haven't commented or left kudos, so the bookmark is as much feedback as you're going to get.
