What represents a successful writing session for you?

I tend to make my best progress when I do writing sprints (which really means I ought to venture into IRC more often looking for writing sprint partners, right?). Those days, I can manage nearly a thousand words. Otherwise, I inch forward, a few sentences at a time. A successful writing session is one in which I end up with more words than I started with. I don't even consider the quality of the words.

For me a successful writing session is when I have words in my notebook or on the screen (depends where I am at the time) and it also doesn't matter if the words are essentially crap because there is the editing stage.

A successful writing session is when I can get in about 500 words or more.

I consider a successful writing session as one where a fic, whether it be a chapter, one shot, or drabble actually gets done. Or, barring that, even if I get a significant chunk of writing done, like a page or two of a chapter and the like.

Success for me is actually getting some words written, even if I don't finish. If I have enough words written that I know I can pick up the story again and complete it without much trouble, that's success. The ultimate success is posting what I've written.
