Thursday is here -- just one more day left in January!  How are things going so far today?  Are you feeling hopeful about your writing prospects as we near the end of the month?  If you aren't actually making progress towards the goal you set for yourself this month, are you "keeping your hand in" by doing other writing?

Be encouraged -- every little bit of anything related to writing works together for good!

For Discussion:  Every month at the WIP Challenge we set goals for what we want to accomplish.  Sometimes we don't reach the goals we set for ourselves.  How do you deal with goals that aren't met -- does it discourage you or do you enter the new month with renewed vigor to see your goals accomplished?

After a productive week last week, I'm having a harder time getting any writing done this week.  I'm working on a couple of things -- mostly still in the research stage -- but I'm not sure if they are going anywhere as yet.  But I'll get back on track eventually!  As far as my goals go, I've reached the main ones for the month, yay!  I still have an outstanding goal that is actually the same every month.  When I don't reach it, I just try again the following month!  It can get discouraging when I continually don't reach a certain goal, but sometimes it has more to do with me making too many goals for the month than anything else.  I try to remain encouraged if I don't meet a goal, because I figure it's still worth aiming for, I just needed more time for it so I take it into the next month with me.  ;-)

Finished another fic for Porn Battle, working on another.

With goals I don't meet, I accept that I can't reach them and move on. It doesn't bother me a lot, personally.

I queued an impromptu ficbit for Tumblr earlier this week, so today I opened it and gave it a good proof-read. It's the most basic type of editing that I can't do without. Typos are a bit embarrassing.

I... actually need to look up my sign-up comment from last month to remind myself what my January goals were. I did have a good month, though. Way at the beginning of the month I cracked down on editing and posted the final version of a WIP that was almost a year in the making. I completed four squares for [community profile] genprompt_bingo, and have several drafts in the works for the same. I did take on a 30 days meme on Tumblr, and that went poorly. Other than that, I'm pretty pleased by my work.
