WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 31 -- Friday

Hello on Friday!  How is it going for you today, this last day of January?  Is it a day filled with writing?  Research?  Brainstorming?  Editing?  Thinking?  Procrastinating? Taking a break?

Here's a quote for this new writing day, which I hope is prophetic for those of us who attempt to take up our pens today:

For Discussion:  Do you find that your ideas come before you start writing or after?  Or is it a mix of the two?

I'm going to be traveling today, so depending on when I get off and when I arrive, I may not have much time left for writing today.  However, I want to spend at least 20 minutes working on something writing-related, if nothing else.  That's my goal for the day!

I often get my ideas just sitting around or something I am reading triggers a possible story idea -- however, I do find that sitting down to research it makes the idea better.  Also, if the idea is not well-formed to start with, it will definitely give birth to more and better ideas as I write.  So I guess it's a mix of the two for me.

I finished another piece for Porn Battle last night. Right now I'm procrastinating, about to write another piece.

It's a mixture of both. If I'm not really into what I'm writing, I'll think of new story ideas, but if I'm into what I'm writing, it may take a while to generate new story ideas.
