How did your writing fare today? Did you...
Daily discussion question: Monday is the first day of the work week for most of us. Do you structure your writing around your work? What do you do when deadlines or unusual work load cut into your writing time. How often do you daydream new plots on your lunch break?
I had a good writing day yesterday so today I restricted myself to editing and posting, to leave more time for other things. I'm unemployed now, and while I look forward to having a job again as soon as possible, I know that adjusting to a light writing schedule will be painful.

- ...research/refresh canon?
- ...plan/outline?
- ...take a well-deserved rest?
- ...do life things?

Date: Monday, February 10th, 2014 19:00 (UTC)Usually I'll need to do anything important in RL before working on any fanworks. In fact, I'm waiting to finish up some RL things before I post a new fanwork today.

Date: Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 04:32 (UTC)Basically, writing doesn't happen if I have too much work or deadlines going on. I can't settle into writing if I'm being pressured by other things. If it goes on too long, however, I throw off the yoke of the RW stuff and spend my time writing instead. ;-) My work schedule leaves me with a few mornings free -- Monday is one of my more free days, actually! -- so unless I have extra stuff going on, I do have time to write if I keep myself organized and focused. I used to be able to do a bit of daydreaming and note-taking while at work, but I'm too often interrupted, so I've kind of given up on that!
