WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 28 -- Friday

It's Friday -- the weekend is almost here!  It's also the last day of our February Challenge.  What kind of a writing day has it been for you?

For Discussion:  Have you ever been asked to do a sequel for a story that you never intended to continue?  How do you feel -- honored?  Annoyed?  Do such requests make you reconsider writing more?

I've done some planning and tweaking of my outline. I'll be sitting down to do some actual writing shortly, just as soon as I eat my breakfast! :)

I've had readers ask for sequels when the stories in question were meant to be one shots! I was surprised at first, and then honored that they thought my short stories were worthy of being fleshed out. In two cases, I did take to heart the suggestion -- I haven't written the sequels yet, but they are planned. I can't work on them until I finish up some of my other WIPs that have already been hanging on for too long!

I've just got home and I'm planning to get some editing done this evening, my article is finished and barring a link and image check is ready for posting tomorrow and then it'll be fics the rest of the night, I may start prodding about with my self created 3x3 bingo card and see what pops up for that but that will more than likely keep for another time as I have several challenges on the go just now.

I got asked to do a sequel to one of my L&O: SVU fics when I was involved in the fandom, and I think that's the only time I've been asked, and I did write it because I actually agreed with the reviewers that it needed one. I did write two sequels to a Taggart fic but that was due to the idea growing too big for just one fic rather than requests.

I wrote on shipswap and another fic for my trope_bingo square well before Thursday night got crazy for me.

I recently got some comments on AO3 about sequels. One was a comment on a ficlet that was actually an outtake from another fic I decided to publish on its own, and another a fic for trope_bingo. One comment wanted me to write about a character I actually wrote in the ficlet and the other a character from the show that I didn't write in the fic (and had no intention of including in said fic). I ignored both comments--in fact, I do have a policy that says I have the right to ignore comments at my discretion. Those people would've known that if they clicked on my AO3 profile.

I finally started Puri's Creepy Crossing! I had been putting it off for a long time, but I promised myself to post the first episode before February was over. Glad to have succeeded. :)

Regarding the question, I don't think I've had anyone ask for a sequel for my one-shots. Maybe once or twice, but I'm uncertain.

Did a little writing. Still fleshing out the outline for a fic, but I consider that writing.

I haven't posted many pieces yet. I did receive one polite request for a sequel on one story, and said that although I had no plans for such, I'd write one if inspiration hit.
