Have you ever written a story inspired by a picture (drawing/painting/photograph) or a song or a poem? Either with the picture or song or poem as the source canon or with it sparking something in another canon.
I haven't done this, but I've thought that it could be an interesting challenge.

Date: Sunday, March 9th, 2014 19:23 (UTC)I once wrote drabble based on a screencap that I saw of Robbie Ross because I liked the lighting and the way he looked in it but I can't find the image now and the fic is still posted.

Date: Sunday, March 9th, 2014 20:21 (UTC)I have done several pieces inspired by pictures. The first one was part of an art challenge where I had to choose a painting and write a story from it. It was very interesting, and not that hard to do once I found a painting that sparked an idea. The others have been done from pictures, sometimes assigned, and sometimes chosen from a group of options. When I can choose the picture, it's a lot easier because I choose one that has already sparked an idea. Writing from an assigned picture takes longer if the idea doesn't come right away, but I usually don't have trouble coming up with something when there's a picture in front of me!
