Greetings on Wednesday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today?

• I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion:  What got you started writing fic?

I'll be concentrating on writing for work rather than on fic today, but it still counts as writing, I guess!  What got me started writing was getting involved in an online community related to my favorite fandom where others were sharing some of their thoughts in the form of discussion as well as fanfic, and I was inspired to put some of what I wished had been written (but wasn't) into writing for myself.  Then I shared it in the community, and that got the ball rolling.  :-)

I started writing fic because I'd been reading it and because I was coming off a long period (nearly a decade) of being unable to write anything much. I thought maybe I could do this fanfic thing and get back some of the joy of writing. I wanted to do something that I hadn't seen done, so I picked a pairing I'd never seen written (Nagi/Yohji in Weiss Kreuz) and started in. I thought then that it would be something short, just an experiment. Now I'm 190,000 words into the story and still don't know when the ending will come.
