How is the writing going for you today?
Discussion: I've already done that. Do you ever find that you revisit certain themes in your writing? Do you try to avoid reusing themes you've already written?
I generally write episode tags, missing scenes and post-canon fic so it isn't often that I find recurring themes in my writing, although last night I started outlining a fic and realised that it was identicial to something that I wrote and posted over a year ago and rather than scrapping the idea entirely I kept the missing scene aspect and focused on something else that canon never dealt with in the episode that I'm working with.

Date: Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 15:28 (UTC)I tend to do gap-fillers and AU, so I don't run into the reusing issue too often. However, I have actually reused some things a few times on purpose, though I do change them up a bit to fit the prompt or the occasion. I have also found myself writing something and then realized I already did that and just forgot -- that's the problem with having a really long WIP that has been going on for long enough that I forget what I've done already if I don't keep rereading it.
