Do you have a specific place where you like to write? What about it works for you?

Mostly, I write while sitting on the couch in my living room. That's mostly because all the other options are worse. It's fine when I'm home alone, but it doesn't work so well when other people are at home because there are always people in and out, and the TV is usually on. I used to write in the basement, but that desperately needs cleaning, and I haven't felt up to facing it. I'm also not sure how my eleven year old would react if I kept retreating into the basement for hours at a time. She's old enough not to need direct supervision, but she's used to having me around.

No chance to write as yet today, but there may be opportunity later. I just returned from a trip, so I'm still occupied with catching up with things at home.

I write best at my computer desk in my office. It is removed from the main room where the tv is, and no one passes through unless they are coming specifically to see me -- so it's great for being uninterrupted and undistracted. The main thing that distracts me there is not my surroundings or people, but the other projects I have waiting for me to do near my desk.
