Do you like to talk about your story ideas either before you write them or as you write them or do you find that discussing the idea kills it or otherwise prevents you from writing it?

For me, having someone to talk to about a story is really important. I often can't make any progress without somebody with whom to discuss what I'm doing. I'm always on the lookout for people who're willing to talk with me about stories. It's just that I dip into so many fandoms that it's hard to find people who can follow me. Well, and Weiss Kreuz, the fandom I write most often, has gotten to be kind of obscure. There aren't many people who're still fans.

I sometimes feel the need to discuss a story idea or plot point with someone, and my go to person is my son. We like the same fandoms and he also writes, so he is someone who can help me work out the knots in my planning. In turn, I listen to him when he needs a sounding board.
