Greetings!
linaewen here for a week of encouragement and discussion as we finish up our writing month and start a new one. What kind of a writing day has it been so far today?
I love research, always have! I never regret getting off on a research rabbit trail when I am trying to find out information for a fic, because I always find something valuable, even if it doesn't get used specifically in the story. I believe my research adds to the underlying foundation of the story whether or not the details of it are present. My go-to resources are fandom-related books, wikis and encyclopedias (thankfully, my main fandom has a lot of resources out there, both in book form and on the internet), as well as Google and other search engines for general information. My degree in library science has helped immensely in knowing how to phrase my search parameters so I find what I want!
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
