So sorry, everyone: I had an attack of the antisocials yesterday and ran off to hide from the universe.

But enough of my neuroses! How are the wordcounts doing?

I'm sorry you had a hiding from the world day yesterday!! :/ I hope you're feeling better today, & that a bit more of a break before you edit helps.

(& no worries about the update post--I thought maybe I'd accidentally muddied the waters by posting the weekly update post, & so maybe we didn't need the daily check-in anyway? I dunno! It's fine either way!!)

During the writing session today I finally had a breakthrough w/my LJ help_japan auction fic. I am finally believing that this is the story I'm supposed to be telling, & I shouldn't go trash it & dig out another idea. Cue big sigh of relief!!

My word count says 10.500! There's still lots to be written and editing will be a nightmare, but none of that matters right now. What counts is that I'm sure I'll make the deadline for the rough draft and that feels really really good.

My wordcount is blimping. :D Most of it is stuff I'd written long ago and never posted (though I re-edit each piece before deciding it's good enough to post now), but I also just wrote 650 words of brand-new crackfic about the LiveJournal crashes!

(Or more specifically, about how the motorcycle-riding space pirates took down the Russian mafia long enough to let dbskyler put up the chatter posts on fic_rush. Yes, we have a long-standing tradition of crackfic over there, although this is the first time I've contributed! I'm fair bouncy about that, too...)

Your motorcycle-riding space pirates made me laugh sooo much!

Yes, it's Day 10 today, but I filled out the poll for what I did yesterday, and right before midnight I officially started writing!

The good: We had the chat for the Hikago challenge Im doing (blind_go) - sorry I didn't make it to the word wars for this comm - looks like a good idea. There was quite a bit of joking and general chat but some good brainstorming too - and reassuring one another about Remix, which is looming and which several of us are doing in addition to blind_go

The less good: In general, its very difficult to write (or chat) undisturbed at home at weekends. Sometimes I just give up - I don't want to explain to family what I'm doing.

My next objective is to reply to all the interesting comments I got on the other thread.
