Do you have a specific place where you like to write? What about it works for you?

I used to like to write at a desk in our basement. It was relatively distraction free, and I felt like all I did there was write, so going there signaled that it was time to start. That space hasn't been available for a while. Our basement is a mess. The desk is piled high with books and papers, and there's no way to get the chair close to the desk. Now, I write in our living room. The downside to that is that there are more distractions. It's more physically comfortable, but it's where I spend most of my waking hours, so I have to work harder to get myself to start writing.

My best place for writing is at my desk in our second bedroom which we turned into an office. It's away from the tv, so I don't have distractions. But it's also where I do all my other work that involves the computer, so I tend to get distracted by other things that need doing and the writing goes by the wayside.
