I started my editing, had a bit of fun with vocabulary connotations and character context, and got past the nasty block I had last week.

Not bad ;)

Tiny bits of editing! Hoping I have enough distance from the finished rough draft to be firmer about what sentences are extraneous, what sentences TOTALLY RIDICULOUS SENTIMENTAL CRAP that I should just keep to myself, &... what sentences work. ;)

I wrote more than 2000 words (3 scenes) which was kind of unexpected although welcome (remix deadlin looming and all). I'll have to catch up with the rest of my life tommorrow. And I hope there's not too much crap in what I wrote :[

After doing my research, I figured out a nice way around my canon snag, and I've been scribbling here and there all day on paper whenever I had a minute to myself. I'm getting ready to type it up and see if it comes to anything -- I'm guessing it's only about 500 words at the moment, but once I get to typing, I expect to be able to keep going and add to it. I have to make enough progress this week to be convincing when I say I can complete this Big Bang by July! Looks like this evening is my best bet for getting a jump start on that...

Three words = Procrastinating not allowed. ;-)

That's great that you found a way to smooth out the canon snag. And 500 words is a good start - there's plenty of time to expand on that until July. (And if that sounds like an invitation to procrastinate: as someone who's got only 3 weeks left until the bigbang deadline I'm telling you, don't!)

The weekend was great in terms of productiveness, and I was hoping to carry over the momentum, but instead I had a bit of a slump today. It's okay, I guess. All in all I'm confident about the story and I like that the background characters are starting to develop a life of their own as well. I just wish I had a little more time. There's still so much to write. *hands*

I went through my computer's WIP folder and looked at every one of my unpublished projects. (I'd been avoiding some of them for months or years.) I now have the beginnings of a much better idea which ones are still worth trying to finish.

Next project: look through my paper!WIP folder - three inches thick - and type up everything that doesn't make me go "oh please no" and hide behind the sofa! ;-) Then on to the random notebooks I jot things in. O_O

(I've also got some "research" DVDs checked out for various stories... we'll see what gets done.)
