Discussion: Inspiration for writing. Do you have things that inspired you to write a fic?

My main inspiration for writing is music which is very good for getting something going. I've also been inspired by the weather, promo clips for new episodes in my fandom, quirky news items (odd but true, National Enquirer etc), and sometimes by the job that I do in RL.

I thought about my fic a bit, but nothing more than that, since I'm not in a position to write at the moment.

I have been inspired by scenery, photographs, verses in the Bible, conversations between characters in canon and unusual personal experiences that somehow can be worked into my stories.

Definitely a 'cheeky break' sort of day, since it's a Sunday, but I did undertake the (long overdue) task of organizing all my old (in this case, pre-2010) 'fics into new folders on my current computer. Re-archiving those in various ways (e.g. on Dreamwidth) is going to be an ongoing thing, but at least I have everything back in one place.

I get the feeling that the next set of scenes that I need to write is going to go on longer than I planned, too, so ... I've got to try and make sure those don't get too far away from me.

Discussion: I'm big on getting prompts from various people and challenges, but, when it comes down to the actual writing, I'm also a big music person. If I've got my headphones on, and they're connected to the laptop (instead of the 3DS), then I'm good to go.
