Discussion: Master post/master list. Do you have a master post with all of your fic? Do you make them for certain types of fic? Do you have a different system?

I used to have a full master list with all of my fics but I found it too difficult to keep up with so I now use fandom specific tags for everything I post to DW.

I find it helpful to have a master post for chapter fic, especially when there are extras like art and playlist etc as I find that it keeps things tidier on my end because I'm likely to forget what has and hasn't already been posted.

I pretty much never post fic on DW or LJ unless required to for a specific challenge. I post at my own website, at AO3, and, for things with low ratings, at fanfiction.net. AO3 and fanfiction.net both have indexes for each author, and my website lists my stories alphabetically. I'm considering reorganizing the list at my website to be alphabetical by fandom. I've got fifty-three stories, and people might be more interested in finding specific fandoms than in finding specific titles.

Just for the two fandoms I've written the most fic for, Torchwood and Burn Notice.

I used not to have masterlists, but since moving my fics to DW, I've put up a masterlist in my fic journal, with stuff organised by fandom. It doesn't take much to edit and add a link to a new fic or chapter, and it helps me find stuff when I want it later on.

Life is too much with me at the moment so no writing is happening. I'm hoping to sit down with my Yulefic assignment sometime this week and make some final decisions on the idea so I can start working up an outline.

I have a sort of a list, which at the moment only includes my more recent posted fics -- it lists them in chronological order of posting with links to the archives where they are posted and for which challenge they were written. It's for my own personal use at the moment, but something like it would be a good idea for the general reading public at some point.

I am scatterbrained today. Almost too many ideas competing for attention, and I get the feeling that, when I do give myself a writing period, it will be frenetic, prolonged, and very productive. Just have to find a time where I can be undisturbed. In the meantime, I am on beta detail for another writer, and that really helps my technical focus.

Discussion: Almost everything I post goes to Dreamwidth (unless required to go to AO3 by a specific challenge), so I have a Master Directory, a directory of directories, rather than a list. Each directory represents a specific DW challenge or community, since I write for several different fandoms. To be fair, if you want to see everything I have done for a specific fandom, I tag my stories in such a way as to make them easy to sift and sort.)
