WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 26 -- Monday

Greetings on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today?  Or, if you haven't gotten down to writing yet, how did it go yesterday?

•     I'm taking a break
•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion:  Does temperature have any affect on how well you write?  Does a certain temperature energize you?  Or is your brain numb when it's cold, and your muse listless when it's hot?

Yesterday I spent quite a lot of time working on an idea for a challenge that was due.  I did finally settle on a plan that will work, but now I am late with the challenge story!  I might be able to work it up later today and still get it in, just slightly late.  As far as temperature goes, I don't know that heat or cold actually affect my writing brain, but being cold does affect my ability to type properly!  My general impression is that I work better when it is warmer.

I did no writing yesterday. I'm working on a PWP, and I couldn't seem to focus with other people in the house. This doesn't bode well for writing today as there's no school and I've got three kids all day.

I don't think that temperature really has an effect on my writing. When I'm uncomfortable, I do less well at writing, and temperature can affect that, but that's about it.

Hmm. Contest Week at Fic Promptly! I'll have to see what I can do with it today. Just a bit to start.

I'm one of those weird souls who's not really affected either way by heat or cold, maybe because I'm out in the weather a fair bit, so I'm up for writing regardless of the temperature. (Whether or not the laptop is up for it is a different story.)

Lately I've been diligently planning my novel (maybe I should work out the specifics of the bit that basically goes "other people do stuff"), and also trying to organise my plot bunnies and partly written fanfics, to make it more likely that I'll finish some of them. I've also plunged into the contest week at fic_promptly by actually writing and posting a small fic (GASP!).
