Do you like to do challenges and exchanges? Why or why not? How do you decide which ones to do?

I do like exchanges (I'm less good about challenges. I almost never finish anything for those). I like the challenge of writing a story just for one specific person and trying to fit what they've asked for. I like multi-fandom exchanges because they make me write things I wouldn't otherwise try. I've been doing fewer exchanges the last couple of years because I want to focus on some longer fics that I'm writing just for me. I still see a lot of exchanges go by that could be a lot of fun. I suspect I could keep myself busy all year long with exchanges if I wanted to (and still have to skip some that sound like fun!).

Another double shift at work, so no writing today. Ah, well. At least money was made.

Challenges and exchanges are my chief source of AO3 output. They keep me writing, and people are good about recommending new ones to me so that I can keep my fandoms alive and represented.
