Greetings on Thursday! What kind of a writing day has it been today? Or, if you haven't gotten down to writing yet, how did it go yesterday?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

When you go back and reread old stories you've written, are you encouraged or discouraged? Do you like what you wrote back then, or do you cry with shame? Do you leave your older works as they are or do you go back and rework the ones that still show promise?

Date: Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 13:47 (UTC)I usually feel pretty happy with my old stories -- I actually make a practice of going back and rereading stuff to remind myself that yes, I am capable of writing well. I've decided to fix up my first longer fic and repost it, and I'm very pleased that it doesn't actually need tons of work. There are some timeline discrepancies and a few other things I want to change and some new stuff I want to add, but for the most part, it's still good enough to go on with. And that's encouraging!

Date: Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 14:05 (UTC)The next week will be iffy for writing as it's spring break. I'll have extra kids in the house most of the time, and I don't find that conducive to writing. I'll still try, though, because I've got the next couple of scenes rattling around in my head.
I quite like some of my old stories. I revisit those from time to time when I can't find something written by someone else that fits my mood.
