[personal profile] linaewen posting in [community profile] writethisfanfic
It's Friday and the weekend! What kind of a writing day has it been today? Or, if you haven't gotten down to writing yet, how did it go yesterday?
  • I thought about my fic once or twice
  • I wrote
  • I did some planning and/or research
  • I edited
  • I've sent my fic off to my beta
  • I posted today!
  • I'm taking a break
  • I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Discussion:  Has it ever happened that in your writing you've been going for one thing and something entirely different (but just as good) ends up being written?  Let the sharing commence!

(Funny, was just thumbing through Tolstoy the other day ....)

No writing today, since I'm about to leave for the long double shift, but I've had the occasional story go profoundly dark when I didn't intend it to (but not often the other way, I've noticed).

No writing yesterday (doctor's appointment and associated fuss) and nothing so far today (extra kids in the house). I'm kind of stuck for the next sentence or two of what I'm writing. I've been thinking about it, and I'm just not sure what should happen next. One of the characters is thinking too much, and all I can come up with to come next is more internal monolog, and I don't think it fits what's going on.

I recently had a story take a left turn on me. I was all set to have a couple of characters seduce each other and have a happy fun time, and then I realized that one of them was secretly evil and that that was going to come out right then. Everything changed.
