Hey! Sorry to some of you who checked in yesterday and I haven’t responded. I had a busy and productive writing day yesterday! And I’ll try to do better today. ;)
1.) How are you doing today?
-Are you having a good real-life-unrelated-to-writing day?
-What’s your progress on your writing goal today? This can be:
-Word Count
-Planning
-Research
-Editing
-Something else specified in comments
-And how do you feel about your progress?
2.) What are the really, really great things that happened in your writing today?
(for example: “I totally nailed characterization today” or “This plot rocks so hard I’m going to burst my own ear drums”)
3.) What are the not so great things that you’re struggling with? How can your fellow writers try to help you today?
-What don’t you feel so successful about today (if anything)?
-Need someone to hold your hand? Cheerlead for you? Advice? Someone to kick your @$$ to get motivated? Something along those lines. I’m sure I or any of your fellow writers will help where they can because we know the feeling. ;)
4.) What is your goal for today OR (if you check in at the end of the day) What is your goal for tomorrow?
-Keep track of this! We want to know if you meet the goals you set so we can congratulate you. ;)
5.) Creative Corner
Feeling tired and frustrated and stumped on the next scene? Feeling excited and really proud and want to show off the good things you’re creating? Get your creative juices flowing or just brag on yourself!
-Today write a haiku! About your fic, or a character in your fic, or how much you love your fic, or something completely unrelated. Just a nice, fun, and short break!! :D
-…and a haiku is 5 syllables on the first line, 7 on the second, and 5 again for the third. (…I think. *is too lazy to look it up*)
In case you’re stuck, here are some key words/prompts you can write about:
**Key words to use as prompts (but you don’t have to): run, gym, work out, contacts, water, Lazyboy, highway, cherries, bookcase, journal, jeans, buttons, window, church, market, radio, nail polish
**Key phrases to use as prompts (but you don’t have to): gypsy soul to blame, set this house on fire, bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, fingernails on a chalkboard, water the garden, shut the front door, every passing second, a place where blind men see, I don't even know my last name, today I don't feel like doing anything
Good luck today!

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 13:10 (UTC)1.) Good day so far!
Have only written a little this morning. Hope to get a couple of hundred words in before work! :D
2.) Right now the greatest thing is that I'm writing fast and making a good, competitive effort for the deadline. 5.6K yesterday! /o/
3.) Not feeling so confident about the first half of this new chapter, but I'm writing it anyway. I don't think the scene is so much out of place as there hasn't been an adequate time spent building up to it. LOL. Vague-ness!! /o/
4.) Hmm. Word count goal is... 10K today. XD And plot goal is to get. Well. Into the plot. I'm not even being deliberately vague this time. I have NO CLUE what I'm going to write next. :P
5.) LOL. After work, probably. Right now I'm spending the next free minutes I have trying to add a page or two to this chapter. ;)

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 14:00 (UTC)2) I am more confident with the characterization.
3) I'm still not sure about the atmosphere. In my mind, it's a horror conspiracy thriller, but I don't know whether I can do it justice.
4) Sleep. Continue to figure out plot for the other bigbang.
5)There is no escape
In the darkness the man in cape
Will come over you always.

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 18:53 (UTC)It's exciting that you're confident with characterization! And I'm sure you'll pull off a horror conspiracy thriller! AND do it justice. I know it probably seems intimidating, but there's a lot of things that I've tried and I fret over them thinking that I can't pull it off. I find if I just start WRITING I usually surprise myself. And in the edits you can make it all the more suspenseful/horrific. :)
5.) O.o /o/ MYSTERIOUS!! :D I like. ♥

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 14:54 (UTC)2: Braindump scrawling to figure out the kinds of things and people I'd like to write orig!fic about. Nothing's cohering yet, but it always makes me happy to go off on a completely random tangent describing odd snippets of the scenery around here. (I love my stupidly flat, slightly wooded, boring landscape...)
3: Sleepy. Said that. Words not ... doing stuff. *zzzzzzz* (My work also involves writing - non-fiction, sadly; I'm an IT Services drone. This situation is Not Good.)
4: ...I had quite a good haiku when I started writing this comment. It has gone away.
I had a haiku
but sadly it is no more
and neither am I.
;-)

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 19:30 (UTC)2.) We love your wooded landscape too which is not stupid or flat or boring. We also love your tangents and snippets. I do, anyway. ;)
3.) IT Services drone. Is this situation so Not Good that you want to do this?
4.) Your haiku is made up of awesome anyway. hope you got LOTS of sleep! :D

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 19:40 (UTC)Wrote ~860 words on this other fic that kind of snuck up on me a week or so ago. I like the idea enough to have written 3 or 4 days' worth of 750 Words on it! Maybe at some point I'll get around to looking at all the snippets & seeing how they line up. I can tell this fic, if I do commit seriously to it, is going to be hard, hard work (& maybe my longest yet: though given my previous record is 4400 words, that is not so impressive ;). But I really like the scenario it supposes (it's futurefic) & it makes me feel squishy just writing it--I want to pet the characters & coo over them--sooooo maybe it will happen. I like those days when I feel kind of in love w/my own writing! Not in the "I AM PERFECT" sort of way--it's not like I think I don't need revisions or that I write prize-winning stuff--but just... well, why am I going to write a fic if it doesn't make me smile or cry or cheer or all three?

Date: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 20:16 (UTC)2) I did not cut a section which I thought I was going to have to cut. As it turns out, it's a lot shorter than I remembered. And better-written!
3) GOD DAMNIT, KIDS, EMOTE. I swear, this entire chapter they're all such little robots. The adults and that whole 'stiff upper lip' thing they've got going on do not help matters. I'm basically going through and inserting whole paragraphs of emotional response. It is Not Good.
4) Tomorrow: same again, four and a half pages. And maybe some emotion!

Date: Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 16:04 (UTC)2. I got a start I wasn't expecting. And I have hope that things will keep rolling along.
4. I got around 600 words written on the 19th and my goal for the 20th is around 6,000.

Date: Thursday, April 21st, 2011 14:55 (UTC)I have not done any writing for several days now. Thought about it, wanted to, but didn't. I managed a tiny bit of research, but that's about it. I didn't feel like doing anything, I guess. ;-) Maybe I needed a break or something. That said, I'm hoping -- no, planning -- on getting somewhere significant. Today!
