Discussion: Speaking of recent events... do you worry a lot about your work being stolen? How do you deal with it when it happens?

Honestly, I never really worried about it before. (That's one of the nice things about being in niche fandoms.) This most recent incident is the first time it's happened to me. Pretty good run for sixteen years in Internet fandom.

Looks like this week is a washout as far as the possibility of writing goes. I wonder if Real Life is ever going to slow down??

I actually have never worried about my work being stolen, really. The recent incident did reveal (at least for a time) that one of my fics was gleaned from Ao3 -- but it wasn't a big one or my "magnum opus" so I wasn't as bothered as I thought I would be. I wonder, though, if I would be more bothered depending on the fic? It actually upsets me more when my "idea" is used before I get a chance to use it myself, but that's not stealing, that's just how writing works sometimes!
