WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 28 --Tuesday

It's Tuesday!  Is it looking like it will be a good day for you today?  How is it going so far in your world of writing?  Have you had a successful time, or has it been less successful than you had hoped?  Did any of the following happen today or yesterday:

• writing?
• research?
• planning and outlining?
• editing?

• totally ignoring writing in order to do something else?

Since we are on the topic of WIPs so far this week, today's discussion is brought to you by the Flamingo Who Can't Decide:

How do you decide which piece to work on?  The one with a deadline?  The one that's most neglected?  The one that people are actually reading?  Do you give them equal attention?  Or does your "Muse" decide for you?

It's nice to know that there are a few like me with a number of WIPs we are working on. I'm hoping to reduce that number soon, because I end up leaving my readers hanging too long between chapters when I'm working on so many at once! But I like the variety of having several going at the same time, and the ability to choose which one to work on if one of them is giving me trouble. However, choosing can be a problem at times! I tend to work on the one that is dearly loved (and also happily, the one that most people are reading). Unfortunately, that one is in no way close to being finished, so the one I am currently considering working on is one that is almost complete -- I really need to push forward with it and just finish it. Then I will have one less WIP hanging over my head!

on a pretty good daily writing roll atm, hope to keep it going as slow and steady is the key for me. I'm lucky enough to currently be in a fandom with great readership overall, hopefully they'll still be around when this is finished!

I've finished my fic for unconventionalcourtship. Woohoo. I'm just giving it a final edit before posting and trying (failing spectacularly) to get a decent title because I've been using Safe Harbour which is the book title and it doesn't really fit the fic.

With WIPs it depends on what I work on but fics with deadlines do tend to be worked on a little quicker than ones that don't have them.

Usually the one with a deadline. AO3 is good for that. Barring that, I try to finish one with actual readers. ... Which usually isn't one I love. *sad chuckle*
