Hello on Thursday! How did it go in your world of writing the last day or two? Have you had a successful time, or has it been less successful than you had hoped? Did any of the following happen yesterday or today:

Do you write your plot first and let the world be built around it? Or do you world-building first, and then proceed with your plot? Perhaps a mix of the two works best for you?
- writing?
- research?
- planning and outlining?
- editing?
- posting?
- totally ignoring writing in order to do something else?

Do you write your plot first and let the world be built around it? Or do you world-building first, and then proceed with your plot? Perhaps a mix of the two works best for you?

Date: Thursday, April 30th, 2015 13:33 (UTC)The main fandom I write in comes with a pre-built world so that gives me a big advantage. From time to time I need to do some world-building on a small scale, but I usually do it as needed and when I encounter the need while working on the plot. My son, on the other hand, cannot move forward without extensive world-building, as he is writing original fiction.
