Hello on Monday! What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Monday, May 25th, 2015 15:25 (UTC)I love research -- my training is as a reference librarian, so I have a great time finding all the bits of info I need for my writing. The internet is such a blessing to me! Of course, I tend to get distracted and go off on all kinds of rabbit trails, but I feel that all that "extra" research is helpful even if I don't specifically use it in a story. I do most of my research prior to writing, but I always have to confirm something in the midst of writing, or something comes up that I didn't think of to begin with, so I pretty much research throughout the writing process.

Date: Monday, May 25th, 2015 20:14 (UTC)I do research when I'm working with something I'm not familiar with and can't ask friends in rl for advice. I also count canon review/refresh as research even when I'm diverting from actual canon for whatever reason.

Date: Monday, May 25th, 2015 23:35 (UTC)I got a nasty cut on one finger, so typing is a bit of a pain today. As for research, I usually do it on the fly while I'm writing. ... Wasn't always that easy, though. On the Oldternet, I had to do it all while I had Internet access, then keep handwritten notes while I wrote on an old DOS machine.

Date: Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 04:34 (UTC)I LOVE research, and I usually discover a lot of information that, while not directly related to what I'm writing at the moment, sparks an idea for another fic. Sometimes I get caught up in looking up new information at the expense of actually writing, though, so recently I've tried to limit how long I spend researching at a time.
